This case study shows how effectively Autodesk Forma software was integrated into the design process of NOVA PROJEKT Architekci sp. z o.o. This integration was intended to make it faster and easier to prepare precise urban analyses in the preliminary phase of architectural projects. This allowed for the analysis of multiple options, which is critical for construction projects subject to local and national laws and located on brownfield sites. The initial presentation will set expectations for Autodesk Forma. A test project revealed obstacles in the form of lack of support for some coordinate systems and DXF™ files. A diagnosis based on experience demonstrated that the analysis results would be only approximate. Autodesk support helped create a data-preparation process using AutoCAD Map 3D software, analysis in Autodesk Forma, and in Revit software. This class will discuss an Autodesk Consulting engagement by a major electric and gas utility to develop a strategic implementation plan and business case for the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) for both the transmission workflow and the substation design engineering and construction workflow. The Solution will alter the current design and construction management processes, and it includes InfraWorks software, AutoCAD Civil 3D software, Inventor software, Inventor Publisher software, Substation Design Solution software, Vault software, and BIM 360 software. This talk will be about real-time, city-scale data visualization, analytics, computation, and simulation in Unreal Engine. We'll demonstrate real-world examples where complex master-planning data sets from multiple stakeholders were integrated to build an immersive digital twin platform in Unreal Engine. You'll learn how the outcome facilitated stakeholder engagement and collaboration and the ability to explore what-if scenarios of the urban development. Materials and textures application and rendering were automated, enabling application of different materials composition to city infrastructure and buildings to provide a realistic feel of the urban context.
